Sign Up for Indy Pride Parade 2020
Saturday, June 13: Resurrection is again walking in this year’s Indy Pride parade. We are expanding our support of the LGBTQ+ community by also providing a team of volunteers to serve as a Block Crew.
Serving opportunities for the Indy Pride Parade include:
- Planning Team: This team of up to 12 people will organize the details of RLC’s participation in the parade including our message, t-shirt design, giveaways, signage, etc.
- Block Crew: At least 10 volunteers (age 13+) are needed to serve on the RLC Block Crew. Volunteers under age 18 require a parent to also be on the crew. RLC will be assigned a block along the parade route, and our crew will be responsible for managing our block before, during, and after the parade. Tasks include setup/take down of bike racks, engaging the crowd, helping parade walking participants stay on pace, etc. Volunteers will arrive at 7 a.m and will be finished by 3 p.m. Each Block Crew member receives a free t-shirt from Indy Pride to wear the day of the parade. Deadline to register for RLC’s Block Crew is Friday, Feb. 28.
- Parade Participant: Those walking in the parade will arrive by 8 a.m. The parade starts at 10 a.m., and the end time depends on the length of the parade but approximately 1 p.m. Some participants will help hold RLC’s banner during the parade while others will distribute RLC giveaways to spectators. T-shirt orders for those walking in the parade (and for anyone else that would like a shirt) will occur at a later date. This signup is for preliminary headcount only.
