Holden Evening Prayer, Wednesdays in March
During the season of Lent, gather with Resurrection for the much-loved Holden Evening Prayer on Wednesday evenings in March at 7 p.m. from March 1 to March 29. Come early for a simple soup supper in Resurrection Hall starting at 5:45 p.m. To help out, sign-up to bring food or to help with setup or cleanup.
Re: Lent
The most common word associated with Lent is probably repent, because Lent is a time to take stock, to re-evaluate, and, hopefully, return to God in some sense. But we have to be careful not to make our spiritual well-being just one more thing on a to-do list we may never get to the bottom of. And we must remember, God is the one who comes to us, not the other way around. With that in mind, on Wednesdays during Lent this year we will focus on other “re” words – words that encourage us to rest in God’s presence as we gather to share a meal and pray together.
