A place to belong

Belonging is at the heart of who we are at Resurrection Lutheran Church. Together we gather in worship, grow through lifelong faith formation, serve our neighbors with generosity, and share our lives with one another. A place to pray. A place to grow. A place to serve. A place to belong. This matters now more than ever.

Investing together in RLC’s future

How your support makes a difference

In 2025, we replaced the front doors of the church. Few things in our facility have an expiration date printed on them, so this was not a budgeted expense. When the doors stopped working, volunteers on the facility and finance teams got to work, drawing on their own expertise and contacts, getting quotes for repairs as well as replacement, and considering the best way to absorb the expense. In the end, the doors were replaced for a cost of $10,340 paid from a reserve fund where we intentionally set aside money for unexpected facility expenses.

Think of all the times those doors open and close in a typical week. Folks come in and out on Sunday morning for worship and faith formation and then again that evening for youth activities. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, ESL students who’ve come through so many doors to get here from around the world pass through ours to improve their language skills. Staff come in to study, prepare, and organize, to pay the bills, answer the phone, and see to any number of little details. Quilters, crocheters, and council members. Choir members, Scouts, and small groups. They all come and go from this place. And on Fridays, volunteers and guests come to share a meal. Those doors open the way to a place to pray, a place to grow, and a place to serve. They open the way to a place where we share the goodness of life in Christ, a place to belong to God and to one another.

Each year at this time, we ask you to share your plan for giving in the form of a financial pledge for the coming year. We depend on your generosity to fund our daily ministry. Everything we do at Resurrection, from worship, to ministry with children and youth, to efforts to make sure our neighbors have enough to eat, is possible because of what you give. Fully functional front doors are just one of the pieces your gifts help to pay for, but they are the gateway to so many more fruits of your generosity.

Our pledge card asks for your response to two things: 1) How much do you plan to give to daily ministry in 2027? and 2) Do you wish to make a new pledge or increase an existing pledge to the capital campaign? This is the third and final year we are asking for new or increased pledges to the capital campaign. And there are still matching funds of $110,00 available, which means your new or increased gift will be doubled.

Pledge to the campaign

We have one pledge card for two appeals: the annual appeal to support our daily ministry in 2027 and the ongoing capital campaign to pay off our mortgage. We hope you will consider increasing your support of our daily ministry in 2027 or maintain your support from 2026.
