Community Service
Breadbox
Breadbox collects food items to be donated to local food pantries including Hunger Inc. and Interchurch Food Pantry of Johnson County. We also collect white grain rice for Second Helpings who provide prepared meals for after school programs, community meals, and community organizations. If you are interested in helping with Breadbox deliveries, please contact Marcie Hrankowsky.

Christmas Sharing Wreath
Our Christmas Sharing Wreath provides gifts to children of families from Douglas MacArthur Kindergarten Academy. RLC members select tags from the wreath to purchase, wrap, and return for delivery to the families, helping to brighten the holiday season.

Community Meals
Our free community meal on Friday evenings, 5:30 to 7 p.m., includes an entree from Second Helpings, fresh salad, bread, and dessert. We also provide fresh fruit for our guests. The Community Meals Team has four rotating crews serving one Friday each month. Volunteers prepare food, greet guests, serve the meal, bus tables, wash dishes, and clean up afterwards.

Douglas MacArthur Kindergarten Academy
The Douglas MacArthur Kindergarten Academy (DMKA) is located across the street from Resurrection. A majority of children at the academy are not native English speakers and many are on free-and-reduced lunch. Through this partnership, we are helping this school to fulfill its learning objectives for its diverse, multicultural student body.

Pride
Resurrection is a place to belong for everyone. Pride matters to RLC because we know how important it is to say “out loud” what we practice and believe. You should not have to guess whether you will be welcomed and affirmed in any community of faith, and LGBTQ+ persons don’t have to guess at RLC.
