Hunger Ministries
“For I was hungry and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you gave me drink.” Matthew 25:35
Many in our community and world struggle with food insecurity and hunger. Through his example, Jesus taught us to care for one another. We strive to follow His example quite literally to care for those who hunger spiritually, emotionally, and physically through several of our ministries here at Resurrection Lutheran, including:
Community Meals
Oversees all details related to serving a weekly nutritious, free meal to the community on Friday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Resurrection Hall.
Breadbox
Coordinates the collection and delivery of food donations to area food pantries.
Pack Away Hunger
Coordinates efforts for people of all ages to pack nutritious meals to fight hunger.
Weekender Food Ministry
Oversees the collection and packing of sacks of food that are distributed to children at local elementary schools.
