RLC Provides Lunch for Midwest Food Bank

Midwest Food Bank—its small staff, regular volunteers, and National Guard soldiers—have been working long hours since April to keep up with increased food needs in the community. The food bank has not yet resumed volunteer events with outside groups, so Resurrection was not able to have our scheduled service day in late August. Our help is still needed.

The Food Bank is looking for groups to provide lunch while the National Guard is assigned through December. RLC hosted a meal with budgeted funds on Thursday, Sep.10. Sign-up by Thursday, Oct. 8 to help out with our next meal on Thursday, Oct. 15. Volunteers are needed to provide the food (lasagna, salad, bread, and cookies). Food items can be brought to Midwest Food Bank (6450 S. Belmont Ave, Indianapolis) on Thursday, Oct. 15 between 10-10:30 a.m. — or contact Julie Jessee to make other arrangements. Volunteers are welcome to stay and serve the meal.
