Mark the start of a new school year with a Backpack Blessing at Resurrection during worship at 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 31. Students of all ages, teachers, school staff, and others who work in any kind of education are invited to bring a backpack, lunchbox, laptop bag, etc. for a special blessing.
As households prepare to start a new school year, some members of our RLC Kids team share special back-to-school greetings with the children of our congregation. We love you, we miss you, and we are praying for you as a new school year begins!
With the start of a new school year, RLC offers this at-home Back to School Blessing for households. Grab any of the things you will use to learn – whether it’s backpacks and notebooks, or computers and tablets, or something else – and bless them together.
Donate supplies and signup to serve at Perry Township Schools annual SHARE event on Saturday, July 25 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Due to the impact of COVID-19, even more families are expected to need help with school supplies.
Help new kindergartners at Douglas MacArthur Kindergarten Academy (DMKA) by serving at one of the school’s upcoming activities. Volunteers are needed in a variety of ways when a new school year begins at DMKA. Visit the table in the narthex for details and sign-ups on Sundays July 7 through July 21.
Gather with us on Sunday, July 28 at 8:15 or 10 a.m. worship for a Blessing of Backpacks and Educators as they prepare for a new school year. Students bringĀ backpacks and place them around the altar for a blessing; educators also receive a blessing during worship.
