Thursday, April 2, 7 p.m. worship: Taking its name from the Latin word for “commandment”, Maundy Thursday remembers the night our Lord instituted Holy Communion, knelt to wash his disciples’ feet, and gave us the new commandment to love one another.
Friday, April 3, 7 p.m. worship: On Good Friday, our focus shifts to the cross as we remember Jesus’ death – and also his victory over sin and death. Worship concludes with the invitation to remain as long as desired for prayer around the cross.
Saturday, April 4: Enhance your celebration of the Resurrection by participating in the ancient tradition of the Easter Vigil. We’ll gather in darkness at 9 p.m. to light a new fire, hear of God’s saving acts throughout history, and renew our baptisms.
There is no better way for us to celebrate the gift of new life than by being together! Worship with Resurrection on Easter Sunday, April 5 at 8:15 or 10:45 a.m. and enjoy our Easter Breakfast from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. in Resurrection Hall.
The Quiltmakers group meets twice monthly in Resurrection Hall: first Monday, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. and third Tuesday, 6:30—8 p.m. Everyone is welcome, from middle-school to older and wiser, any and all genders! Our next gatherings are Monday, April 6 (11:30 a.m.) and Tuesday, April 21 (6:30 p.m.).
Wednesday, April 8, 5 – 6:30 p.m. Help create floral arrangements at Random Acts of Flowers (1057 E 54th St, Indianapolis). Carpool available. Sign up or contact Katie Finnie by Sunday, March 29 to participate. We are also collecting vases in the narthex on Sundays during March.
Meets monthly, second Thursday, 6 p.m. in Room 9: Moms of all ages, come meet and build relationships with other RLC parents and explore and learn about different parenting topics and books! Refreshments provided. We meet monthly from September through April.
Resurrection’s Knit/Crochet Group gathers one Saturday each month from 10 a.m. – noon at Resurrection. Anyone is welcome. See scheduled monthly meeting dates.
Tuesday, April 14: The O.W.L.s (Older Wiser Lutherans) are gathering at 11 a.m. for lunch at Dawson’s on Main in Speedway (1464 N Main St, Indianapolis), followed by a visit to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. Join Weekender Backpack Ministry in the fight against hunger by packing bags of easy-to-prepare food on scheduled dates at 6 p.m. in rooms 5 and 6 at Resurrection Lutheran Church.
