Sunday, Nov. 10, at 9:30 a.m. in Resurrection Hall and at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary: Come for a special event with author Willie Edward Taylor Carver, Jr. Carver’s verses in his collection “Gay Poems for Red States” speak to the longings of anyone looking for a place to belong.
Speaking the Truth as 21st Century Christ Followers
Sunday, Nov. 3, 9:30 a.m. in Resurrection Hall: On Oct. 1, 2024, the ELCA Conference of Bishops shared a statement calling on Christians to recommit to truth-telling in response to “hateful, deceptive, violent speech” in our national discourse. We explore what it means to live out that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
Trunk or Treat: Rain or Shine!
Resurrection’s annual Trunk or Treat is Sunday, Oct. 27 from 3-5 p.m. No sign-up required to attend event. Help us prepare: donate bags of candy in the church narthex collection box and sign-up online to decorate a trunk.
A Public Faith for Troubled Times
Tuesdays from 6:30-8 p.m., Sep. 3 – Oct. 29: Pastor Ryan leads a group discussion, “A Public Faith for Troubled Times”, following the book, “A Public Faith: How Followers of Christ Should Serve the Common Good”, by Miroslav Volf. Sign up as together we consider how to live out our faith amid such strong political disagreement.
RLC’s 60th Anniversary Celebration
Resurrection Lutheran Church celebrates 60 years with an anniversary celebration on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. RSVP by Tuesday, Oct. 1 and sign up to stay after the celebration and help with clean-up from 8:30-9:30 p.m.
Short Stories by Jesus, The Parables of a Controversial Rabbi
Sundays at 9:30 a.m., Sep. 15 – Oct. 27 in Resurrection Hall: In this Bible study, we hear Jesus’ parables both as the original Jewish audience heard them and as stories that challenge us to live as Jesus taught. This study is flexible, so attend sessions as you can.
Election Day Hospitality
Resurrection is a polling location on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5. We are providing hospitality and refreshment for voters and poll workers with coffee, tea, and cookies. To help, please drop off labeled cookies and bars in the church kitchen by Monday, Nov. 4 or contact the church office.
Confirmation Sunday and Faith Stories
Come support our youth on Confirmation Sunday, Sep. 29, as they affirm their baptisms and mark this faith milestone. Confirmands will share faith stories at 9:30 a.m. in Resurrection Hall and participate in the rite of Confirmation during the 10:45 a.m. worship service.
