Give back this Advent season with Resurrection’s Sharing Wreath! The Sharing Wreath provides gifts for 40 children from 19 families at Douglas MacArthur Kindergarten Academy. Please wrap gifts, label with the family and child information, and return to church by Sunday, Dec. 11.
Donate to the Weekender Backpack Ministry to provide a $5 scholastic book for each child this Christmas. Donation envelopes are available in the church narthex. Weekender is also continuing to collect 16-28 oz. plastic jars of peanut butter for winter break.
Here’s a great (and easy) way to share with those in need this holiday season! Do a Reverse Advent Calendar by adding a food item to a box each day starting on Dec. 1, then place the items in Resurrection’s Breadbox on Christmas Eve.
Help fill the shelves in the Resurrection Breadbox to support the Interchurch Food Pantry of Johnson County. Donations of elbow macaroni, spaghetti, and white long-grain rice are always needed for Second Helpings.
Donate red poinsettias to adorn Resurrection’s sanctuary and narthex this Christmas. Poinsettias are $8 each and can be ordered in memory or in honor of someone. To donate poinsettias, sign-up online by Wednesday, Nov. 2.
School Uniform Supplies Needed: The clinic at Douglas MacArthur Kindergarten Academy keeps extra uniform supplies on hand to give to students in need. They would appreciate donations of pants in sizes 5, 6, and 7.
Fall break is fast approaching and the Weekender Backpack Ministry is collecting 16-28 oz. plastic jars of peanut butter to send home with the children for their two-week break in October. Drop off peanut butter in the Breadbox through Sunday, Oct. 2.
Resurrection’s annual Trunk or Treat is Sunday, Oct. 30 from 2-4 p.m. No sign-up required to attend event. Help us prepare: doate bags of candy in the designated box in the church narthex and sign-up online to decorate a trunk.
As we begin a new program year, help us refresh our supply closet by purchasing books, art materials, and organizational supplies from our wish list. Contact Victoria to learn about a variety of opportunities available for mentoring, teaching, or leading one-off projects.
Resurrection is collecting school supplies for Perry Township Schools’ annual S.H.A.R.E. (Students and Staff Helping to Acquire Resources for Everyone) event. Get the list of needs and drop off supplies in the church narthex by Sunday, July 10. Sign-up to volunteer to help with the event.
